The Cannon Charitable Interests is using a different grants management system as of December 2017. All grantees must follow the steps below.
Please review all of the steps listed below before you begin. These steps apply to THE CANNON FOUNDATION, the CHARLES A. CANNON CHARITABLE TRUSTS (designated beneficiaries only) and the MARIAM AND ROBERT HAYES CHARITABLE TRUST (invited beneficiaries only) and to both new and returning grantees.
Step 1: Register as a new user at https://cannonfunds.force.com. Please use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari as your browser.
Step 2: Complete the Qualification Assessment
- If your organization has never received a grant, please complete the Qualification Assessment
- If your organization has received a grant in the past five years OR is a named beneficiary of the Charles A. Cannon Charitable Trusts you do not have to complete the Qualification Assessment. Once you have completed Step 1, you may directly access the Request for Application (RFA)
Step 3: Complete and submit an online Request for Application (RFA) form. RFA forms are accepted beginning six weeks before the RFA deadline. RFA forms provide staff preliminary information about your organization and proposed request.
Step 4: After you submit the RFA form, Cannon Charitable Interests staff will review it and respond to the organization's CEO and other contacts you provide. If staff review determines that your project fits within guidelines, then the link to the online Grant Application will be provided. The staff review process may take several business days.
Step 5: Submit the online Grant Application and upload Required Documents by the grant deadline.
There are four grant cycles per year. Deadlines are:
Request for Application forms are accepted beginning six weeks before the deadline but must be submitted no later than the close of business on the dates listed above. Final Grant Applications must be submitted by the close of business on the dates listed above. When these deadlines fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline moves out to the next business day.
Notification of grant decisions will be emailed to the applicant approximately 10 to 12 weeks after each deadline date. Grant notifications are normally sent only to the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director or President. Please be sure to include that person’s name, address and phone number in the application.
As of December 2017, all applicants will be required to create a new user account to access the Request for Application form. Register as a new user at https://cannonfunds.force.com. Please use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari as your browser.
Returning applicants may visit https://cannonfunds.force.com to login to our online system with their username and password to access an existing application, complete an application in progress or to submit an interim or final reports for awarded grants.
The Cannon Charitable Interests were created to continue the philanthropy of Charles A. Cannon. The Cannon Charitable Interests include a foundation and three separate charitable trusts. Each has its own guidelines for eligibility.
